Configuration FAQ

What are the requirements for running configuration reports?

Configuration reports run on all versions of presentation server from version 3.0 on

To run configuration reporting, the following must be installed:  XTS Introspect, .net 2.0, MFCOM SDK coresponding to your citrix version,  instructions for configuration can be found here.  note: Analysis Services is not required for configuration reporting.

I am getting an error when creating a new configuration database?

common causes are MFCOM sdk is not properly installed, or DCOM settings are not configured properly.

First check the dcom configuration settings,  follow the instructions in this document Configuration Report Setup,  The settings must be configured on both the server with the Citrix Managment Console you are trying to connect to, and the server that Introspect is installed on.

If you cannot find the DCOM entry 'Metaframe Com Server' or '{ED62F4E0-63C2-11D4094D8-00C04FB0F326}' then there was a problem with the installation of the MFCOM SDK, please reinstall the MFCOM SDK, when installing register it with the remote server you will be trying to connect to.

Is analysis Services required to do the configuration reporting?

No, Analysis services is only required for the Introspect Historical Reporting.

Configuration Data is out of sync with my environment?

Introspect does not report directly off your citrix environment It preprocesses the data for more efficent reporting,  you must reprocess the database for it to recognize any changes made.   This can be done by adding a schedule to process daily.
